In 2018, lifelong friends and passionate builders Farrukh and Umar faced a critical security breach while working on an MLOps product: a compromised dependency exfiltrated secrets during development, exposing a customer’s production cluster—a firsthand encounter with a supply chain attack. Frustrated by the lack of visibility and control in modern development environments, and after losing their biggest customer, they set out to build the tool they wished they’d had. That’s how listen.dev was born.
